Accessibility

By Air

The main gateway to Padang as well as West Sumatra is Tabing Airport Padang. It is serviced by National Airlines such as - Garuda Indonesia, Merpati Airlines, Mandala, Bali Air, Lion Air, Batavia Air, meanwhile International Airlines : Garuda, Pelangi Air have connections and service flights from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru to Padang, and Silk Air has flight services from Singapore to Padang.

By Sea

There are 3 harbours, Teluk Bayur, Muara, Teluk Kabung-Bungus. Teluk Bayur is the main harbor serving Padang about 6 kilometers to the south. The ships of Lambelu and Kambuna will serve you from Jakarta to Padang once a week. Comfortable ships are equipped with TV sets, air conditioned and luxurious cabins. The harbours of Muara and Teluk Kabung will serve to Mentawai and Nias with smaller ships.


By Land

There are many comfortable buses equipped with air conditioning, Music and Videos tape that will serve you to Padang. If you travel by bus you will find breathtaking scenery along the journey. The bus from Jakarta to Padang which runs daily takes 30 hours and from the ride from Medan to Padang is about 20 hours and also runs daily. Anywhere in Padang can be reached easily by mini-bus, oplets and taxies. Horse-cart (bendi) is offered for door to door service.
