Bung Hatta Nature Reserve

This Nature Reserve is located l8 Km to the north of Padang. It is 240 Ha. and the configuration of the nature reserve is a slight wave between 400 – l300 m above sea level. The average rainfall is between 4000 – 5000 mm per year and the mean temperature is between l3 C – 26 C. This nature reserve is dominated by primary forest with rare trees such as Raflesia Gaduensi, Balangphora SP, Amorphopalus, Orchid and rare animal species such as Monkeys, Gibbons, Sumatra Tigers, Tapir, Different kinds of Birds. This park displays photographs of the late first Indonesian Vice President Mohammad Hatta, who was a native son of West Sumatra. Other facilities are also offered like gate, guest house, camping ground, footpath, Restaurant and a parking area. Access to Bung Hatta nature reserve is easy as it lies on the highway to Solok with the fare of Rp 2500,-

Padang Country Club (PCC)

Golf devotees established a club called Padang Country Club (PCC). To become a club member, one should register at the secretariat office of Padang Country Club on Ulu Gadut Street, Phone No. 71499. There are ample amenities and facilities of being a PCC member.

Golf Course of Ulu Gadut

Golf Course of Ulu Gadut is situated in Limau Manis, Koto Luar village, Pauh Subdistrict, 12 kms to the east of Padang Town. It was pioneered for the first time in 1971 by Mr. Sumantoro, Commander of Kodam III 17 Agustus at that time. It was built on the land belonging to Kodam at ± 40 Ha in width, with 9 holes only. In 1990, initiated by former regional secretary of West Sumatra, Mr. H. Soerkani, the course was expanded to 75 Ha with 18 holes. The golf course was continuously renovated so that it looked more beautiful with improved facilities and culminated into the panoramic yet challenging course it is now.

Sarasah Banyak Gariang Waterfall

This tourist resort is also situated in Ulu Gadut, precisely on Sarasah foothills, Koto Baru hamlet, South Limau Manis village, Pauh Subdistrict. The fall is 60 meters in height. Compared to Sikayan Balumuik Fall, this resort has more visitors. In addition to being closer in distance, that is 2 kms from LIK Gadut, the track is not so difficult to go through. The fall is a watercourse running from Sikayan Balumuik. It takes ± 40 minutes to get to the location. In the past, the fall was inhabited by a lot of Gariang fish (a kind of fresh water fish), hence, the surrounding people of Ulu Gadut called it Sarasah Banyak Gariang Fall meaning a fall containing a myriad of fresh water fish.
To get to the site, you can ride a jitney heading to Padang/Pasar Raya-Ulu Gadut with Rp. 1.000,- fare, or ride a cab with Rp. 20.000,- fare. After reaching the LIK Gadut, continue your journey by riding a yellow jitney heading to Koto Baru, with Rp. 700,- fare.

Sikayan Balumuik Waterfall

Natural Tourism Resort of Sikayan Balumuik Fall is located on the ridge of Bukit Barisan, 17 kms to the east of Padang Town. Precisely on Sarasah Hill, Koto Baru hamlet, Gadut, South Limau Manis, Pauh Subdistrict. The fall is ± 90 meters in height.
To get to the location, you can ride a jitney heading to Padang/Pasar Raya-Ulu Gadut with Rp. 1.000,- fare, or ride a cab with Rp. 20.000,- fare. After reaching the LIK Gadut, continue your journey by riding a yellow jitney heading to Koto Baru, with Rp. 700,- fare. When you get to the last terminal of jitney, carry on your journey on foot going through a footpath. It takes ± 1 ½ hours to get to the site with a distance of ± 6 kms. For visitors needing directions / guide to the location, local LPM and LKMD led by Mr. Syahril. K will always be available to give assistance to all visitors.

The Three Tier Waterfall

The Three Tier Waterfall is a natural tourist resort located on the ridge of Bukit Barisan, located 600m above sea level. Just like its name, Three Leveled Fall, the fall comprises of three levels of falls. The surrounding people of Cindakir call it Lubuk Hitam (Black Deep Hollow). Three Leveled Fall is located in Koto Lubuk Hitam Countryside, Cindakir. Precisely at the north of Teluk Kabung village, Bungus Subdistrict, 22kms to the south of Padang Town. From downtown, you can ride a Car City transport heading to Padang-Bungus, Teluk Kabung with Rp. 2.000,- fare. Alternatively, you can ride a cab from downtown with ± Rp. 30.000,- fare.
