Air Manis Beach

Air Manis Beach is situated at the back of Gunung Padang, + l0 Km to the south, a fishermens village on Padang’s scenic west coast. The beach is wide and flat and not good for swimming. During the low tide, The Pisang Ketek Island in front with a distance of only + 200 m is walking distance but keep an eye on the tide. The beach is very popular for the Malin Kundang rock, that exists in this area. With the rock standing in the water a short distance from the shore and it is said to be the hull of Malin Kundangs boat, which ship wrecked in a storm after it was cursed by the defiant young man’s mother. Some facilities offered at the main gate include, food stalls, home stays, and boat hire. Access to the object by oplet/microlet number 437 from Pasar raya is with the fare of Rp 2.000,- or an alternative is the climb up the hill from Muara river.
