Bung Hatta Nature Reserve

This Nature Reserve is located l8 Km to the north of Padang. It is 240 Ha. and the configuration of the nature reserve is a slight wave between 400 – l300 m above sea level. The average rainfall is between 4000 – 5000 mm per year and the mean temperature is between l3 C – 26 C. This nature reserve is dominated by primary forest with rare trees such as Raflesia Gaduensi, Balangphora SP, Amorphopalus, Orchid and rare animal species such as Monkeys, Gibbons, Sumatra Tigers, Tapir, Different kinds of Birds. This park displays photographs of the late first Indonesian Vice President Mohammad Hatta, who was a native son of West Sumatra. Other facilities are also offered like gate, guest house, camping ground, footpath, Restaurant and a parking area. Access to Bung Hatta nature reserve is easy as it lies on the highway to Solok with the fare of Rp 2500,-
